Chapter 35
The man in the white shirt flickered in place, sending chills across Deadeyeâs back. For a moment he thought heâd lost VIP 10, but it turned out to be a futile escape attempt of a dying man.
Deadeye sneered. âI told you, it wonât work.â VIP 10 must have tried something, but he didnât know that Deadeye had used a high tier magic scroll to bind him. With that scroll, he could lock a level 40 player easily. If VIP 10 had broken that spell, Deadeye wouldâve vanished. Actually, it was a test to probe the power of his opponent, because his perception had failed on VIP 10. But since VIP 10 had failed to free himself, that meant he wasnât a level 40+ player. So, he wasnât a threat to Deadeye.
VIP 10 didnât speak and remained in place, staring at Deadeye with a weird crazy gaze.
âIâm fine, even if you donât talk right away. I have ways to make you talk.â Deadeye smirked. When Agatha lost that twelve hundred gold, he lost his cool and was about to kill the bitch. But then the ugly Cloak of Zero reappeared, and his mood lightened. After spotting it inside the tailorâs shop by chance, theyâd waited outside to grab VIP 10. Now, it was only a matter of time and heâd have what he wanted. The cloak, the ring, and the gold on that manâs corpse.
If VIP 10 spent twenty-five hundred gold like coin at a fruit stall, how much more money would he have with him?
Suddenly, Deadeye felt a tingling cold sensation between his brows. What if that man belonged to a first-tier guild, or a super guild?
Fuck! If VIP 10 wasnât level 40 +, why couldnât he use perception on him? That meant he had some other powerful item. An item only higher-level guilds could possess.
Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Did he just step on a hornetsâ nest?
That would be doom for him and even his guild. First-tier or super guilds were the entities his small-scale guild could never dare offend.
âListen, man.â Deadeyeâs voice turned softer. âGive me the items and scram. I donât want to make you suffer.â If he only took items, the guild wouldnât do anything. Right? He was only taking a broken Unique item. Not even an Epic item.
VIP 10 didnât reply. He kept staring at Deadeye.
âWhat the heck.â Rage built inside Deadeyeâs chest. Now that fucking crow was mocking him with a smirk. What if he killed VIP 10? Would they know who did it?
Probably not.
âHoney, guards are here,â Agatha whispered.
Though the guards wouldnât do anything, he still had to maintain his composure. Any illegal act would reduce his reputation with the town, and that he couldnât afford. After five years, Deadeye had mined enough reputation from mundane quests to rent a house and use it as the guildâs headquarters in Chinari, and this would be a major boon to their expedition on Abomination Continent. So, Deadeye wouldnât risk losing it for a fool like VIP 10.
